Annual Chocolate & Chalk Festival In North Berkeley Returns June 19
Are you ready to enjoy chalk art and sweet treats? The 22nd Annual Chocolate & Chalk Festival in Berkeley will be held on June 19 from 10 am to 4 pm on the sidewalk along Shattuck and Cedar Streets. This year’s theme is “Art Sparks Joy.”
For this year, the in-person event will be held with modifications. Sidewalk areas for the annual North Berkeley event will be provided to artists working in groups or individually with no fees. The first 25 participants who preregistered earned a free box of chalk. Interested participants also can register on the day of the event at the booth at Shattuck and Cedar. Event organizers will sell chalk boxes for creating colorful street art for $10 cash.
There will be a contest with cash prizes of up to $150 for the top three placers during the event. An additional ten runners-up will receive $25 gift certificates from Books, Inc. There will be no formal chocolate tasting this year, however, local businesses will be offering special chocolate treats and gift items for sale. The 22nd Annual Chocolate & Chalk Festival is produced by Another Bullwinkel Show and co-sponsored by the North Shattuck Association, City of Berkeley Civic Arts, and Books Inc.
